Understand and implement data models
After the programme, you should be able to understand existing data models and introduce new models. Accordingly, the learning objectives are: to interpret a given data model, coordinate with users, adapt models, implement and test data models and document the processes around data modelling. Record and analyse clients’ requests for information and information resources. to specify the data management and develop, implement and test a data model.
What you learn in the data modelling programme
- Demonstrate the relationship between user needs and the solution derived from them
- Adapt and implement data model
- Consider data and access protection during implementation
- Create forms for data manipulation and data presentation
- Check data model for correct implementation of user needs
- Document the data model and pay attention to maintainability and traceability
- Record and analyse information needs and data storage requirements together with clients, and define and document data protection and security requirements
- Create ER diagrams and identify missing information or clarify redundancies
- Complete data model
- Review the data model together with the clients and make any necessary adjustments
- Develop the required database schema for the data model, document it and implement it in a test environment
