ICT Desktop Technician / CompTIA A+
This course deals with the basics for entering the ICT sector. In future, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of PC workstations. As a PC technician, you solve client-side problems, add components to hardware and get peer-to-peer networks up and running. The course is a preparation for other professions – ICT technician, ICT operator and ICT helpdesk agent – as well as the internationally recognised CompTIA A+ certificate. This offer is part (module 1) of the programme IT Specialist (System & Network Technology).

What does the course cover?
The course covers the following topics:
- Overview of computer systems and architectures
- Installation of hardware (e.g. additional hard disks, graphics cards, etc.)
- Installation and configuration as well as upgrade of operating systems
- Data migration
- Installation of printers and other peripherals
- Installation and configuration of standard software (e.g. MS Office)
- Identifying and running through procedures in the event of errors
- Developing the basics of installing a network
- Cloud services and their features
Learning objectives
- You are able to independently install and configure a PC, as well as troubleshoot and install new components
- You can perform upgrades and migrations
- You know the structure of a network and can integrate a workstation into a network
Requirements
Good Windows skills and a flair for IT are required.
