As a result of digitalisation and economic constraints, the demands on the professional qualifications of workers are constantly increasing and new, demanding professions are emerging. Switzerland is therefore facing an acute shortage of skilled workers, also as a result of demographic change.
With its commitment to education, the IBAW is making an important contribution to combating the shortage of technology specialists and to promoting Switzerland as a business location.
The Institut für berufliche Aus- und Weiterbildung (IBAW) stands for high-quality and practical higher professional learning and training programmes in business information technology, technology and business. The IBAW makes an important educational commitment to strengthening Switzerland as a business location.
As part of a reorganisation, the IBAW was transferred to Miduca AG in January 2022. Miduca AG is a Migros-Gruppe company that will continue to offer «education for everyone». The IBAW brand will therefore remain and nothing will currently change for current or planned courses. Certificates and diplomas already acquired will continue to be valid.
We look forward to continuing to accompany you in your personal and professional development.
Quality is constantly monitored on the basis of the following six criteria:
The IBAW also has Model F certification.
An eight-member advisory board with representatives from business and science supports the IBAW in strategic issues. Challenges and future prospects for the IBAW and for Switzerland as a business location are assessed and corresponding recommendations for the business strategy are made. In doing so, the committee engages in exchange with key players in favour of work/study programmes in Switzerland in an effort to counter the shortage of skilled workers in Switzerland. The members are elected by the IBAW management for a period of two years and they meet once or twice a year.
