Degree | ICT system and network technician with a Swiss federal diploma |
The learning content is not exclusively oriented towards the ICT sector. The focus is on topics such as network management, system management, project and IT service management, system engineering and IT security. The training to become an ICT system/network technician with a Swiss federal diploma also includes content from business administration and quality management. Targeted examination preparation (including semester examinations and internal final examination) ensures that you can take the federal examination with the best prerequisites.
A certain amount of ICT experience is necessary for you to start training as an ICT system/network technician with a federal diploma. The acquisition of a federal certificate of competence and/or several years of professional experience in the ICT sector are mandatory. With one of the following combinations of previous education and work experience, you can enrol in this programme:
The training to become an ICT systems/network technician with a federal diploma at the IBAW is aimed at professionals who are already working in IT or in the IT environment and are aiming for a higher federal qualification. This will broaden your skills and recommend you for senior positions in the field of network technology.
The syllabus is based entirely on the specifications of the federal examinations. The teaching modules have been created by a team of experts with teaching and practical experience and are practically oriented in accordance with the goals required in the module descriptions of ICT vocational training. IBAW courses combine content-related modules in fields of competence. This means that topics are treated holistically and implemented in a hands-on way using practical examples. Thanks to the notion of competence fields, content is taught more efficiently. The holistic approach to the functions and tasks promotes interdisciplinary processing and guarantees your learning success (success rate of over 80 percent in the federal final examinations).
Your knowledge of network management can be expanded afterwards. With the federal diploma in ICT Systems/Network Engineering in your pocket, you will have the opportunity to start a degree programme to become a Dipl. Wirtschaftsinformatiker HF, a business IT specialist.
You will be reimbursed by the Confederation (SERI) for up to 50 per cent of the eligible course costs after you have completed the course and passed the federal examination. Their examination success is not relevant for the federal contribution.
