The Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification is one of the role-based expert certifications and includes the two MOC seminars AZ-300 and AZ-301.

The Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert course is an official Microsoft programme that provides you with a wide range of skills. The learning objectives are manifold. Aspiring Azure solution architects gain knowledge of:

  • Azure resource management
  • Assessment, planning and implementation of a migration of on-premises resources and on-premises infrastructures to Azure
  • Parallel and asynchronous processes
  • Resilience of business systems to malfunctions
  • Automated and predictable deployments
  • Creating solutions with Logic Apps
  • Integration of apps, data, systems and services across organisations
  • Implementation of secure data and authentication in applications
  • Cryptographic key management

IT know-how is mandatory

The content is taught by a certified Microsoft trainer (MCT). While the classes will be held in German, the original Microsoft materials for the seminar are currently only available in English. Participation in the Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert course is only possible if you have basic IT expertise and experience in the professional IT environment. In addition, know-how in various aspects of IT operations is a prerequisite. This includes virtualisation, network, identity, security, disaster recovery, data management, business continuity, budgeting and governance. Finally, you need also to have obtained the Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator (AZ-103) certificate. This examination, as well as the associated Microsoft training, is part of the IBAW educational programme.

Expert certification after three exams

Examination fees for the optional Exam AZ-300: Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies and Exam AZ-301: Microsoft Azure Architect Design are not included in the course costs. All participants receive a Microsoft Achievement certificate of attendance after the nine-day course. To obtain certification as a Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert, success in these two examinations as well as in the Azure Administrator examination (AZ-103) is required. You have the opportunity to take all these examinations at the IBAW.
